The Pyramid Stage
I woke up at 9am and I was so fucking wrecked it wasnt even funny. The tent would be so warm in the mornings that I would get up and sleep with my head poking out. I was so tired in fact that I started to contemplate not going to see Metric, one of my must see bands of Glastonbury 2009. Dont worry, I stopped being a pussy
. Pete was like “Yeah, I had a glasgow shower”, we were like “huh?” to which he replied “I sprayed my armpits with bo spray”. Ahhhhh lol.
Metric played the other stage at 1pm. Jesus they were so fucking good! But just dont take my word for it; I dragged everyone to it and they all loved them, especially Chris & Rachel. Some of the live versions were soo different and really big compared to how they were recorded in the studio. Another two glastonbury moments at the metric; Hearing Gimme Sympathy live was fucking immense, and also hearing the line from Help I’m Alive being repeated over and over again; “Can you feel my heart beating like a hammer?…”

Chris Really Loved Metric!
We didnt really have anything else to do so we stayed around the other stage while jason moraz came on; god he was awful! I was contemplating running off somewhere else just because he was hurting my ears so much. He was kinda ben harperish, but shite.
Before I forget, Mum was such a legend this weekend too. She came up to me twice asking if I had enough money and even though I said both times that I was fine she forced a £20 note into my hand both times. It made my weekend!
We made our way back to our tents for an afternoon crashing session as always,

Crash & Burn
then made our way to the park stage to see Easystar Allstar, a reggae band that do covers of different albums like Radiohead’s OK Computer, The Beatles etc. It was quite strange how we ended up seeing them because everyone of us seemed to get a reccommendation about this band over the course of the weekend. It was the family I was talking to at the Bloc Party gig that told me about them. Unfortunately we were only there long enough to hear a reggae version of Karma Police and I fell asleep on the ground.
We all then spent the next two hours hanging round the Radio 1 Introducing tent doing the following:
Putting our make up on:
Sleeping:
Dancing:

Gymnastics:

Drinking:

Playing Games:

And finally, cross dressing and partial nudity:

It was the best craic ever. Everybody was just in such a good mood and up for a laugh. Funniest moment had to be when slightly tipsy Chris (hee hee) turns round to lucy and says “Go get my weed bitch!”. Legend!
We made our way to John Peel to see Passion Pit play their set, but we were a bit early so naturally we went to the gourmet burger bar where I got the “fat bastard” burger (1/2 pound pork burger with apple sauce) and emma got the “lady” burger (veggie style). Today was actually the first time I got properly talking to emma and I quickly found out that she was very easy to get on with. Shes a bit “cheeky, but lovely”
. Also her friend Nick was such a dead on guy. I had such a relaxing time sitting outside the JP Tent with everyone enjoying our dinner.

Passion Pit were good but man does he have a high voice (Bit of trivia for ya: we went for a couple of drinks when we got back to bristol on monday and guess who were playing in the bar beside us?! Yup, passion pit. Small world.)
Now the next gig was the biggest surprise I would have all weekend. I never in a million years thought that this band would end up playing the best gig ever seeing as how I’d heard maybe two of their songs but they were absolutely fucking amazing. That band was Florence & The Machine:

The atmostphere was incredible, her songs are soo well written, she was a complete performer and she was also so humbled by the crowd, ending the gig with “I love you glastonbury, and im quite drunk!”. She also started to climb the scaffolding and the security guard was not amused!

We came out of the gig so unbelievably high because it was that good, that we were messing about like crazy. Like there was one woman waving to one of her friends, so we all started waving to her and then she waved back! We ran up to talk to her and had a big jokey convo that went something like this: “Omg I havent seen you in ages?! How you been?!…. Och we will catch up soon I promise!”. Then her friend came up and said who were they; she was like “I dont have a fucking clue!” lol.
We then made it to the Pyramid stage for Bruce. When the lights finally went down we all knew that we were in for a treat. Fuck the guy has more energy than me! His set list lasted almost 3 hours (it actually cost Michael Eavis an extra 10 grand or something because he took longer but he said it was worth it!). Best moments were definitely the no surrender duet and waiting on a sunny day. Thank god he played Dancing In The Dark but I wish he hadnt finished with it because I was knackered by the end.
I was so tired so it was an early night for me; went to bed around half 2 again. What is it with half 2? Is there something mystical about that time I should know about??
Anyway, the most amazing saturday ive ever spent in a few fields…
